I took up running about 7 years ago and really got serious about it in 1997.  In the fall of 1997 I ran three marathons; the Air Force Marathon in Dayton Ohio, the Toe to Tow Marathon in Akron Ohio, and the Columbus Marathon (see finish photo below) in Columbus, Ohio. In each event I finished within one minute of four hours.

In 1998 I ran the Air Force Marathon (see start and finish photo below), which I plan to run until I am taking my dirt nap and the Toe to Tow Marathon. Personal issues kept me from the necessary training to improve my time from last year.

1999 proved to be very challenging from a running standpoint.  I had many personal issues come up, including adopting a new child, starting a new job, coaching and much more.  My running time was cut to almost nothing. I only ran the Air Force Marathon and my goal was to finish, which I did in 4:30 minutes approximately (see photo below).

I plan on running more and getting back into the condition I was in in 1997, which was the best I ever felt in my life..

One of the best places on the web for running information Dead Runners Society (DRS)--This is a great group of runners that correspond about running. There are all kinds of postings for running training tips, race information and general fitness discussions.

That’s me in the gray tights—don’t get any funny ideas about me in tights, I only wore them cause it was cold!
